📍The Philippines
Heya ~ This is Nikky and currently in my second year in uni. I love doing volunteer and social work, studying foreign languages, and binging any form of entertainment. I joined NGA because I recognize the long history of anti-asian racism and its detrimental effects to our community. Therefore, in any shape of form I would love to be part of a movement that shifts the understanding. I love illustrating and video editing, and with that I could showcase stories that could make a change.

Hey guys! My name is Isabel, and I’m currently a freshman in high school. I live in Washington State and I’m so excited to be part of the NGA team! I would like to describe myself as free-spirited, down to earth, and very sociable. I absolutely love traveling, and exploring parts of the world, so you’ll probably find me in different continents all the time. However, this quarantine I’ve been focused on baking & writing a lot. Baking and spending time with my friends are probably my favorite stress relievers because I always get to eat something. I’m beyond grateful for this NGA family, and I’m looking forward to the amazing things that are coming up in the future!

Hi! My name is Michelle and I am going into grade 10 (sophomore year) in Ontario, Canada. I’m a third-generation Japanese Canadian . I spend most of my time reading. In particular, I read a lot of biographies and science fiction. I also play the trombone, cook and spend time with my dog. I wanted to join NGA because I believe that it’s very important for young people to have a voice (in particular Asians, who are often underrepresented). NGA is also a great way for everyone to have access to Asian voices and learn more about important topics from a youth perspective.

Hello! I’m Ashley Chung, a young Korean-American freshman who currently lives in California. I am a bit on the young side, but hope to try my hardest and contribute to this team and Asian awareness! I enjoy playing the violin in my free time and am currently preparing and looking towards a career in pediatrics. I joined NGA because I wanted to spread awareness for Asians and help other young teens like me feel comfortable with who they are. I hope to help this group advocate for Asians all over the world and let them experience the beautiful ethnic differences of each Asian country.

Hi! I’m Andrea, a proud Filipina currently residing in Bahrain. At school, I have been an active member of the debating community, the dance group and the school newspaper. Hi! My name is Dabeen and I’m a South Korean-American high school senior living in Switzerland. I love skiing, writing, film, and music! Living in Europe, I noticed the alarming degree to which harmful stereotypes, fetishization, and racism against Asians are ignored and not taken seriously in my community. I joined NGA because I feel Asian issues are too often brushed aside and believe it is crucial to bring them to light. While supporting Asian artists and uplifting Asian youth, I believe NGA is the perfect platform to address the obstacles that the community faces through raising awareness and education. I also love that it’s a great space for Asian youth from all over the world to connect with, collaborate with, and relate to one another!
