Founder & Director 📍Canada | '05 Hey guys! My name is Cindy, and I’m a high school sophomore and second-gen Chinese Canadian born and raised in Southern Ontario. I'm highly passionate about debate, music, film, basketball, and most recently, political theory. In my free time, you can find me binging TV shows, going on late night drives, or reorganizing my Spotify playlists for the hundredth time. Seeing how NGA has grown has been absolutely amazing, and I can't wait for more things to come!
Co-Founder & Associate Director 📍Canada | '05 Hey! My name is Nahyun and I am a high school sophomore in Ontario, Canada. I’m a first-generation Korean Canadian immigrant, and I came to Canada at the age of 2. In my free time, I enjoy watching true crime, biking, and drawing. I am currently reading through the Anne of Green Gables series. I want to be able to advocate for Asians across the world, be able to address and fix some of the issues in our community, and be able to connect with my culture through Next GenerAsian.

For fun, I like to draw, paint, and play sports (like volleyball and soccer)! I’m a huge Disney fan and like listening to musicals.
Head Writer 📍Canada Hi! I’m Anika and I’m from the middle of nowhere in Canada. I’m Filipino-Chinese Canadian, though my family definitely identifies more with the Filipino side. I enjoy writing, watching films with my friends, binge reading, and trying out new teas and boba. I hope to advocate and represent the young Asian generation and educate them on what it means to be Asian Canadian/American. I hope the next generation of Asians will find pride and love for their culture and identity!
Head of Activism & Research 📍USA Hi everyone! My name is Sravani Mannava and I am a sophomore at Westfield High School in Virginia. I am sixteen years old and my family is originally from India. I love playing field hockey, baking, and writing! I am also passionate about business and politics!

I love studying political theory and reading Kafka, Marx, and Dan Brown. In my free time, I play Minecraft and League of Legends, and also watch Bojack Horseman on Netflix. I just finished watching Queen's Gambit and have taken up chess again. As a Chinese person myself, I'm eager to advocate for human rights and Asian representation with the Next GenerAsian team!
Head Writer 📍Australia Hi! My name is Lindsay and I am Singaporean American. I was born in New York City but I moved to Tokyo when I was 6. I spent 10 years living there and grew up in a Japanese and international background. I finished high school in Singapore and moved to Melbourne for university. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts double majoring in history and Asian studies at the University of Melbourne. I hope to work in media, journalism or teaching in the future. Writing is my passion and I want to elevate marginalized voices and shed light on issues that people may not be aware about through NGA. I love K-pop, Asian dramas and anime.
Creative Head 📍Canada Hello everyone! My name is Tracy Nguyen, I am proudly a Vietnamese & Chinese Canadian! I am going into my second year of college for my Social Service Worker program. I wish to work with children and youth as well as abused women in the field of social work to help be the voice for those who struggle with sexual violence/domestic abuse cases. In my free time, I am organizing protests with locals to fight for change, as well as using my other platforms to help guide and support our youth. I wish to educate and bring awareness to conversations that aren't talked about enough on NGA.
Creative Head 📍The Philippines Heya ~ This is Nikky and currently in my second year in uni. I love doing volunteer and social work, studying foreign languages, and binging any form of entertainment. I joined NGA because I recognize the long history of anti-asian racism and its detrimental effects to our community. Therefore, in any shape of form I would love to be part of a movement that shifts the understanding. I love illustrating and video editing, and with that I could showcase stories that could make a change.
Community Head 📍USA Hi! I’m Michelle! I’m a first-generation Korean American and a sophomore in Indiana. In my free time, you can usually catch me drawing, reading or binging k-dramas. I’m an avid photographer and love fashion and art in general. I’ve been involved in multiple campaigns and organizations and love working towards a certain cause. I joined NGA because I wanted to break down long standing myths about Asians and also join a community of like-minded people.
Projects Head 📍Hong Kong Hello, I’m Alina! I am a Hong Kong-born Indian. I am going to my year 11/grade 10 this September. During this whole quarantine, I just found myself lost and completely out of mental state, however I found out about the amazing opportunities and am proudly a part of several orgs and even have my org as well! I have a lot of interests, such as dancing, writing, fitness, etc. I have a very entrepreneurial personality and I'm really looking forward to studying in the US soon for college.
Projects Head 📍USA Hey guys! My name is Isabel, and I’m currently a freshman in high school. I live in Washington State and I’m so excited to be part of the NGA team! I would like to describe myself as free-spirited, down to earth, and very sociable. I absolutely love traveling, and exploring parts of the world, so you’ll probably find me in different continents all the time. However, this quarantine I’ve been focused on baking & writing a lot. Baking and spending time with my friends are probably my favorite stress relievers because I always get to eat something. I’m beyond grateful for this NGA family, and I’m looking forward to the amazing things that are coming up in the future!
Social Media Manager 📍India Hi guys! My name is Kaavya and I live in South India. I’m very happy to have joined the Next GenerAsian team! I love economics and math and am currently a high school senior. I am very passionate about giving people a platform to voice their opinions. I joined the Next GenerAsian team because I believe it is a platform that can do a lot of good for the Asian community. I am also interested in social work and am the president of my school interact club. When I’m not working you can find me either reading or watching my favourite kdramas/ listening to kpop. I also love playing sports, photography, and dancing.
Social Media Manager 📍Canada Hi everyone! My name is Hiba and I’m a Pakistani Canadian in the 9th grade. I was born in Canada and have lived here ever since. I spend most of my time binge watching shows on Netflix. I also enjoy listening to music and playing tennis, as well as doing some creative writing every now and then. I wanted to join NGA to raise awareness and shed light on current day problems happening in Asia.
Social Media Manager + Podcast Host 📍USA Hi! My name is Sidney, and I am first-generation Chinese Vietnamese, born in America. I am a sophomore from Central Ohio and wish to go into paediatrics or law. In my free time, you can usually catch me at the tennis courts… or on Tik Tok. I play tennis competitively, and have been for about 3 years. I like painting, fashion, music, for some reason, politics. I am also a founder of a March for Our Lives chapter at my school. I wanted to join NGA because I wanted to be more involved in my community and help advocate for Asians all around. I wanted to shed light on issues around the world, and I thought NGA was a great fit.

Some of my hobbies and interests include sports, spending time with friends, and politics. I was motivated to join NGA because I want to learn more about my Asian heritage and culture. Editor 📍Canada Hi! My name is Michelle and I am going into grade 10 (sophomore year) in Ontario, Canada. I’m a third-generation Japanese Canadian . I spend most of my time reading. In particular, I read a lot of biographies and science fiction. I also play the trombone, cook and spend time with my dog. I wanted to join NGA because I believe that it’s very important for young people to have a voice (in particular Asians, who are often underrepresented). NGA is also a great way for everyone to have access to Asian voices and learn more about important topics from a youth perspective.
Illlustrator 📍USA Heyo! I’m Audrey, I’m a Chinese Indonesian junior from Kentucky and the proud daughter of immigrants! In my free time I like to watch documentaries and make art and crafts. I’m really active at my school and in my community and I love to meet new people and try new things. My passion lies in design and creating things. I joined NGA because I feel that more than ever that activism and advocacy is calling our generation to rise. I have always held strong roots within my identity and heritage so being part of NGA means a lot to me. I feel that it’s the perfect time to be part of this journey of educating ourselves and each other and I hope to play my part!
Researcher 📍USA Hello! I’m Sidney and I’m an American born Taiwanese. I’m currently a junior living in Chicago, but I was born and raised in San Francisco, and spent 5 years living in Taiwan. I spend most of my time practicing the viola, and I would like to study music at conservatory and hopefully become a professional musician. In my free time, I love to read, write, and play with my cat Garfield (Gary). I joined NGA because I want to help young Asians feel confident in their own skin, become more educated, and let others see the beauty of our cultures.
Writer 📍UK Hi, my name is Sofia-Nur and I am from London, UK and I am Indian! I am in grade 10 of high school which is the equivalent to year 11 in secondary school. Some of my hobbies and extracurriculars include competitive swimming, reading, hanging out with my friends and family and also watching Netflix! I am super excited to be joining NGA, because as a member of the Asian community I think it is super important that we encourage the Asian youth to be the best version of themselves without fearing any obstacles due to their culture. I’m passionate about helping people and making a difference, especially through something I can relate to!
Illustrator 📍USA Hello! I’m Ashley Chung, a young Korean-American freshman who currently lives in California. I am a bit on the young side, but hope to try my hardest and contribute to this team and Asian awareness! I enjoy playing the violin in my free time and am currently preparing and looking towards a career in pediatrics. I joined NGA because I wanted to spread awareness for Asians and help other young teens like me feel comfortable with who they are. I believe that NGA will make strides for the Asian community and want to be a part of something that I know will change the views and narrowed perceptions of many people in the world. I hope to help this group advocate for Asians all over the world and let them experience the beautiful ethnic differences of each Asian country.

I love K-pop and K-dramas and my culture as well. I am currently a sophomore and love to drink boba and hang out with my friends. I also paint during my free time!

I’d consider myself a youth activist, especially for mental health, and in general I’d like to become more inclined with the Asian community which is why I joined NGA! I would also call myself a STEM person, since I love Biology, which is why I’m also a member of the Young Scientists Journal. I love K-pop, and TWICE are one of my favourite groups. Like many Asians, I love bubble tea and love to keep up with Asian entertainment like kpop and anime. Writer 📍Switzerland Hi! My name is Dabeen and I’m a South Korean-American high school senior living in Switzerland. I love skiing, writing, film, and music! Living in Europe, I noticed the alarming degree to which harmful stereotypes, fetishization, and racism against Asians are ignored and not taken seriously in my community. I joined NGA because I feel Asian issues are too often brushed aside and believe it is crucial to bring them to light. While supporting Asian artists and uplifting Asian youth, I believe NGA is the perfect platform to address the obstacles that the community faces through raising awareness and education. I also love that it’s a great space for Asian youth from all over the world to connect with, collaborate with, and relate to one another!

Writer 📍USA Hi! My name is Lana and I’m a HS Junior living in San Diego, California, but I was born and lived in England for ten years. My parents are both full Filipino and healthcare workers (wooo!). I love reading, hanging out with friends, boba runs, journaling, and dancing. I joined NGA because throughout my childhood, I haven’t been able to embrace my Filipina heritage as much as I wish I could’ve. I want to be able to delve into the causes of these issues around our community and share both experiences in my life and others’ lives in embracing their identity as a member of the Asian youth.
